Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced and technically savvy Senior IT Infrastructure & Systems Engineer to maintain our company’s IT infrastructure. This role is essential to supporting our remote-first software development environment, with a strong emphasis on Hyper-V virtualization, Oracle database operations, Microsoft 365 services, Azure production support, and IT compliance. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on specialist in virtualization, networking, and systems administration, with the ability to independently handle complex infrastructure setups across the organization

🔧 Key Responsibilities

Hyper-V & Virtual Infrastructure

• Manage and maintain Dell Hyper-V servers hosted in the third-party data center.
• Clone, configure, and deploy virtual machines for dev and test.
• Monitor and optimize performance of virtual infrastructure, storage arrays and network.

 

Development Environment Management

• Set up and maintain development environments including:
• Microsoft IIS web servers
• Oracle databases
• Ensure environments are stable, secure, and aligned with development needs.

 

Oracle Support

• Perform day-to-day Oracle Support tasks including:
• Data imports and exports
• Backup and recovery operations
• Act as the primary liaison between the development team and the Oracle DBA to coordinate database needs, changes, and issue resolution.

 

Microsoft 365 & SharePoint Administration

• Oversee user account management, licensing, and security configurations within Microsoft 365..
• Maintain SharePoint Online, including site administration, permission controls, and content organization.
• Provide support for Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, and Intune as required..

 

Azure Production Support

• Provide basic administrative support for Azure VMs and related tasks
• Carry out regular maintenance and monitoring of the production environment.
• Provide Infrastructure level support for the Oracle application deployed in Azure.
• Coordinate with the external Cloud Service Provider to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and robust security.

 

Networking & Security

• Set up and manage FortiGate firewalls and VPN access for remote workforce support.
• Administer network infrastructure, including VLAN configuration, routing, and DNS/DHCP services.
• Maintain secure, stable, and efficient connectivity across all systems.

 

Helpdesk Oversight

• Track and resolve problem tickets and ensure prompt and effective resolution
• Provide Tier 3 support for complex or unresolved issues.

 

Audit & Compliance Support

• Partner with the CISO to gather and submit documentation for the company’s annual SOC 1 Type 2 audit.
• Support the CISO in addressing ongoing government audit and assessment inquiries.
• Ensure accurate documentation and always maintain IT audit readiness.

 

🎓 Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure and systems administration.
• Expert-level knowledge of:
• Hyper-V virtualization
• Enterprise storage arrays
• Networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls)

 

Strong experience with:

• Oracle database administration
• Linux server administration
• IIS configuration and management
• Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online
• Azure VMs and  cloud administration
• Proficiency with Fortigate firewalls and VPN configuration.
• Experience overseeing or collaborating with other IT support teams.
• Familiarity with IT audit processes and documentation.
• Ability to work independently in an all remote environment.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
