  • Large-scale analytics data warehouses (e.g., cloud-based columnar and cloud data warehouses, such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift).

Difference Between DBMS and Traditional File Systems

Prior to the database systems, organizations used to keep their data in multiple files, which created the problem of duplicated data, inconsistencies, and lack of query ability for data across records.

With a DBMS, data is stored in a single place and accessed only as needed for ease of use, consistency is maintained and access is controlled, and SQL is used to pull specific data from the DBMS rather than writing custom code for each file.
